Right-click the host list and select "Add Using the Scanner…" from the context menu of the ping utility.
Specify the necessary scan range and click the "Start" button.
After scanning is over, clear the checkboxes of the devices you do not want to add. Then specify how to ping the new devices (by their IP addresses or DNS names) and click the "Finish" button.
